JANINE KIJNER

Ms. Kijner has received several awards for writing. She co-wrote "Duke's
House, a film that premiered at The Tribeca
Film Festival 2003
and worked on Postcard from Peje, a documentary set in post-war
Kosovo & helmed by Mark Landsmann that premiered at The
Sundance Film Festival 2001. Her script, my father's wedding, was a Quarter-Finalist
in the Nicholl Screenwriting Fellowship Competition 2001 and in The Austin Film Festival Screenwriting Competition 2001. She has
had several Off-Broadway productions of her stage plays including, "One
Man Woman Show," "The Seductive Hand of Mr. Clean," & "Tevli's
Song."
In addition, Ms. Kijner was Co-Director of an international theatre
troupe, Artaban Theatre, along with French director Robert Gourpe
whose plays, including "Don Juan in Manhattan" premiered in The
Fringe Festival, La Mama Annex & The French
Alliance Theatre in NYC. Ms. Kijner worked in post-war Kosovo (1999-2001) as an
arts/cultural coordinator for an international NGO (Balkan Sunflowers) & for
UNICEF to promote conflict resolution through the arts.
